Protein Powder – Drink It

Do you know how many different protein powders there are out there on the market? Me either but I know it’s a shit ton! Protein from plant based to whey and flavors from cookies and cream to plain, you name it and they got it. It’s overwhelming! Lucky for you and not so lucky for my wallet, I’m a girl of curiosity and I’ve tried 10 different brands that I can remember. Here are my top 5 and why.

First, we should talk about why protein shakes are important. Whether you are lifting weights or going for long jogs you are getting microscopic tears in the tissue of your muscles. No, it’s okay! When your heart is pounding during a moderate or high-intensity workout your whole body goes into shock mode. Your mind starts to panic and it tries to psych you out and get you to stop. Maybe it’s because you’re not used to it or maybe it’s because you’re secretly telling yourself you can’t do it. I’m telling you that the mind can be deceiving.

Starting is one of the hardest parts…

I’ll start tomorrow or I’ll start Monday. No. How about instead you try saying, I’m starting now! I’m starting today! Get it out of the way, because starting is one of the hardest parts.

We have all been there. Dragging our feet; dreading the first step. That’s the thing though, it is the first step and after you take it you don’t have to take it again. So start now… start today!

“But I want to start a program and those always start on Monday’s.”

That’s awesome! I love programs, as a matter of fact, I’ll go over some in a minute. However, you should still start doing something active today. If you don’t then Monday will come around and then you’ll say, “oh maybe next Monday.”

Yup, I’m on to you and I’m calling you out!!
